Applied Anthropology Degree and Certificate Information
Applied Anthropology is part of the social sciences department at Truckee Meadows Community College.
By definition, an applied anthropology program is devoted to making a positive difference. TMCC's program is designed to be a real world program for people who want to make a difference in their communities and at the global level.
TMCC prepares students to become para-professionals in anthropology and related social science fields. TMCC serves:
- entry-level college students who wish to gain work experience in their chosen career field as they complete their schooling; and
- adults employed in other fields and professions who wish to complete an emphasis or certificate tailored to their career advancement.
Currently the TMCC Applied Anthropology Program offers:
- Associate of Arts degree in Applied Anthropology
- Certificate of Achievement in Applied Anthropology, with emphasis in Cultural Diversity.
