Types of Financial Aid – Grants
Academic Competitiveness Grant
Established in 2005, the Academic Competitiveness Grant is a federal grant program for full-time students who qualify for the Pell Grant, are U. S. citizens and who are concentrating in math, science or a foreign language critical to U.S. National Security.

Bureau Of Indian Affairs (BIA) Grant
Eligible Native Americans can apply through the individual tribes or BIA agencies.
Federal Pell Grant
A federal Pell Grant, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid. Pell Grants are awarded only to undergraduate students who have not earned a baccalaureate or professional degree.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants
Preference is given to students who still demonstrate financial need, who have not earned a baccalaureate or professional degree and who apply early.
Grant In Aid
These limited funds are for Nevada residents who demonstrate financial need and meet scholarship requirements. Contact the financial aid office for more information.
Leveraging Educational Assistant Program
These funds are available to Nevada residents with significant financial need.
Various State Need-Based Grants
These grants are available for Nevada residents enrolled in at least six credits. Eligibility is based on need or merit.
