Students who are not eligible to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) due to their citizenship status are considered FAFSA Non-Filers and may still be eligible for other types of student aid.
Students who have deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) or are undocumented are encouraged to complete the FAFSA Non-Filers application. The application process is simple and safe.
Application Process
In order to apply for financial aid, students must complete the FAFSA Non-Filers Application by July 1 for priority consideration. Students must be pursuing a degree or certificate program at TMCC. Funding is limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students can contact the Financial Aid Office for questions or assistance.
Listed below are the steps that students must complete to be considered for the grants and scholarships associated with the FAFSA Non-Filer application.
- Apply to TMCC
Follow the instructions listed on the Steps to Enroll webpage on how to apply to the College. Students who apply and are accepted will receive an acceptance letter that contains an assigned student NSHE ID number and student username. - Complete the FAFSA Non-Filers Application
Complete the form below and upload a PDF file of your tax documents based on the corresponding year that you are seeking assistance. If you are unable to save your tax documents as a PDF, you may print them and submit it to the Scholarships and Outreach Coordinator at TMCC's Financial Aid Office. If you or your household did not file taxes another form of financial information will be requested. - Complete the CSS Profile
The CSS Profile is optional and only for students taking 15 credits or more per semester. Sign in to the CSS Profile Fall 2023/Spring 2024 CSS Application. You will be prompted to create a College Board student ID if you haven’t previously created one. As part of your application, you will be asked for demographic and financial information for the student and parent(s). If you are asked to make a payment, STOP, and contact your Financial Aid Office. They will provide you with a fee waiver code so you can complete the application at no cost to you. - Check Your TMCC Student Email for Updates
Funding is first-come, first-served and is not guaranteed. Additional documents may be requested. Funds will be disbursed 10 days before the start of your first class for the semester if you have completed the application process before the priority deadline
