Residency Classification

Residency is determined at the time of initial admission and reflected in your official welcome letter. Depending on what you select on the College application, you will receive your welcome letter by email or USPS.

TMCC Dandini Campus

Once you are admitted to Truckee Meadows Community College, it is important to check your residency classification in your MyTMCC Student Center.

Where Do I Find My Classification?

Residency Classification is reflected in your official welcome letter. It can also be found in MyTMCC, under Student Services Center > Personal Information > Demographics.

Out-of-State Classification

Out-of-state students will be charged out-of-state tuition, as outlined in the TMCC Catalog under the Tuition and Fees Schedule.

Students are responsible for paying for or dropping from each class they are registered for. If payment is not received by the published deadline, a student's enrollment may be canceled from all classes. Students remain responsible for charges on classes that they do not drop and no longer want to take.

Please contact Financial Aid for information regarding scholarships, FAFSA and other aid options.

How Do I Change My Residency Classification?

For students who would like to establish Nevada residency for tuition purposes. There are three options for this application. Please complete only the option you are applying under in full. Contact Admissions and Records if you need assistance with selecting the option that best fits your situation.

Complete the Residency Application and submit it along with the required documentation to the Admissions and Records office. Submission options are listed on the application: in person, via mail, fax, or email.

Please refer to the Dates and Deadlines calendar for each semester submission deadline. Residency decisions are not retroactive and late submissions will not be accepted and are not eligible for appeal.
