We are delighted you chose to pursue your academic career with TMCC!
New Student Orientation provides essential college orientation and advises you on first-semester courses. As a new degree-seeking student, you will have a hold placed on your account until you complete the orientation.
New Student Orientation provides information on the catalog, English and Math placement, how to enroll, what classes to take for your first semester and preparation for your first semester.
After completing the modules and submitting the orientation's final step, the enrollment hold on your MyTMCC account will be removed within one business day. During open registration, you will also have the option to attend an in-person Registration workshop to receive hands-on registration assistance.
Note: New Student Orientation is accessed through your TMCC Canvas account. You will need your TMCC username and password that was provided to you in your admissions letter when you applied to the College. If you need assistance logging in, please see the online student authentication tools.
All new, first-time, degree-seeking students are required to complete New Student Orientation. If you are a transfer or returning student, you do not need to complete Orientation. If you are not a new, first-time, degree-seeking student with an Orientation hold, please contact us to request the hold be removed from your account.
- Returning, transfer, or continuing students should schedule an appointment with Academic Advising.
- Student-athletes must schedule an appointment with Academic Advising.
- Students using VA Educational Benefits (i.e., GI Bill®) are encouraged to meet with a Military-Connected Academic Advisor and the Veterans Resource Center.
Your hold should be removed within one business day of completing the New Student Orientation Canvas course.
You will receive an email to your TMCC email account letting you know the hold has been removed.
If your hold is not removed within one business day after completing the New Student Orientation Canvas course, please contact the Recruitment and Access Center.
Please contact the Recruitment and Access Center with any questions about orientation.
After completing all the modules of New Student Orientation, if you still need help registering for classes, you can sign up to attend a New Student Registration Workshop. These workshops are offered from June through August for the Fall Semester and from November through January for the Spring Semester. Outside of these months, if you need help registering for classes, please contact the Recruitment and Access Center.
