Distinguished Speaker Series: Ruby Veridiano, Sustainability in Fashion
Ruby is a sustainable fashion storyteller, educator, and communications consultant. She most recently served as the Senior Manager of Storytelling and Global Content at the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, an industry association working to promote environmental and social justice in the global supply chain. Though she started her career as an arts activist working in youth non-profit organizations and NGOs, she formally transitioned into the fashion & luxury industry through her work at the LVMH Group in Paris, France, where she worked on international diversity initiatives. She has also been a freelance journalist and content producer for NBC News, where she wrote and produced content merging the fashion and creative industries with social impact. Her original series on style and cultural identity for NBC News, entitled "Wear I'm From", was nominated for a 2018 NAMIC Vision Award. As a speaker, Ruby has spoken at venues such as Cornell University, Columbia University, Stanford University, and the United Nations. Globally minded and multilingual, she has worked in the United States, Europe, and Asia, offering an international perspective and an ability to thrive in cross-cultural environments. She speaks English, Tagalog, and French.
