Faculty of Color Coalition Meeting
Date:
Oct. 8, 2024,
2
- 3 p.m.
Description:
We seek to celebrate the contributions, successes, hopes, and goals of faculty of color at TMCC. The group also aims to support and address the issues and concerns that people of color may have at our college. The intention is not to divide but rather to explore feelings of disconnectedness, cultivate connections independent of external conditions, and find support in a way that does not ignore social realities.
FOC is open to all academic and administrative faculty who self-identify as people of color or faculty of color allies. We envision FOC as a way for people of color at TMCC to offer mutual support and create a safe space where we can cultivate long-lasting bonds and relationships that will benefit group members.
Dr. Olga Mesina and Skyler Cruz, L.M.S.W., lead the FOC. We will meet once per month and explore many issues that affect our lives, including identity, cultivating compassion, and, most importantly, working to create a group where people can come and be heard and find and give support.
Please join our listserv regardless of whether you can attend. By joining, you can learn more about our work and our plans.
