Description

This course is the first year course for individuals in the building trades' Carpenter apprenticeship program. History of the Carpentry trade and apprenticeship program, trade mathematics, care and use of hand and power tools, building materials, hardware, construction sketching, foundations, footings, wall and floor framing. This course is taken twice in the first year. The total embedded material is covered when this course is taken twice in one year. This course satisfies 45 hours of instruction toward specified programs and certificates for AAS Human Relations General Education requirements. This course satisfies 45 hours of instruction toward specified programs and certificates for AAS Math/Quantitative Reasoning General Education requirements.
