It has shown that Heritage Spanish speakers, Native Spanish speakers, or Spanish speakers who grew up speaking Spanish in their homes have not been successful in this course. Please contact the Foreign Language Department, to learn about the Spanish Heritage Language track, starting with SPAN 226 and continuing with SPAN 227 (which satisfies the foreign language requirement). In the event of public health restrictions or other emergencies, classes may need to be changed to Web-Live, Web, or Hybrid instruction modes. Students will be notified by instructors and/or academic departments of any required changes.

Description
Introduction to basic Spanish language structures and cultural topics with a focus on development of communicative proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing. For true beginners only. This course transfers to UNR as SPAN 111.
