Lab Fee: $35. There will be some off-site labs. Enrollment is limited to Veterinary Nursing Program students. Note: class will not meet on TMCC holidays; check the class syllabus. This program is held in the new Veterinary Nursing suite located in the TMCC Meadowood North Building, 5250 Neil Road, Ste. 170. In-person class ends 3/31/2023. Externships are from 4/3 to 5/12/2023. In the event of public health restrictions or other emergencies, classes may need to be changed to Web-Live, Web, or Hybrid instruction modes. Students will be notified by instructors and/or academic departments of any required changes.

Description
This course includes the principles involved with breed recognition, restraint, husbandry, nutrition, breeding, health conditions, disease recognition, and zoonotic potential of laboratory animals, reptiles and birds. The course also includes the technician's (nurse's) role in a research facility, zoological facility and a general veterinary practice.
