Lab Fee $50. This class is scheduled to meet face-to-face. Open Entry/Closed Exit lab Mon.-Thu. from 4-9 p.m. Students enrolling in DYN open-entry classes have 24 hours after the time of enrollment to drop the class for a 100% refund. Students must enroll by 10/2/2023 and complete all work by 12/9/2023. Meets at EDSN 164. In the event of public health restrictions or other emergencies, classes may need to be changed to Web-Live, Web, or Hybrid instruction modes. Students will be notified by instructors and/or academic departments of any required changes

Description
Introduces basic lathe applications which will consists of identifying lathe components and controls, understanding turning safety, calculating speeds and feeds, using various tools and tool holders, identifying basic tool geometry, and the use of common lathe tooling. Students will perform basic lathe operations, which will consist of facing, turning, and drilling. Students will be required to produce specified parts to a tolerance of +/- .004 in. and perform competencies set by manufacturing standards.
