Lab Fee: $50. Open Entry/Closed Exit Lab from 4-9 p.m., Mon.-Thu. Lab meets in EDSN 164, Mon.-Thu. Students enrolling in DYN open-entry classes have 24 hours after the time of enrollment to drop the class for a 100% refund. Last date to enroll in a DYN open-entry class for Spring 2024 term is 3/08/2024. After 3/08/2024 no enrollment is allowed and classes cannot be dropped. Students must complete all work by 5/9/2024. In the event of public health restrictions or other emergencies, classes may need to be changed to Web-Live, Web, or Hybrid instruction modes. Students will be notified by instructors and/or academic departments of any required changes.

Description

Introduces basic milling machine applications which will consist of identifying mill components and controls, understanding milling safety, calculating speeds and feeds, using various tools and tool holders, identifying basic tool geometry, and the use of common milling machine tooling. Students will perform basic milling operations consisting of facing, squaring, slotting, and drilling. Students will be required to produce specified parts to a tolerance of +/- .004 in. and perform competencies set by manufacturing standards.
