It's time to register for Fall Semester, and there is now a new, more user-friendly method to enroll in classes at Truckee Meadows Community College.
The TMCC Web Services team and Bill Garand in IT Application Support have released a new online HTML Class Schedule featuring course descriptions and other useful information alongside class times.
“The direct link to our class schedule landing page continues to be schedule.tmcc.edu,” said Cal Anderson, Webmaster at TMCC. “Instead of paging through a PDF or FlippingBook, students are now able to directly search or browse for the classes they’re looking for much more easily.”
Students will be able to click a “details” dropdown with course information, prerequisites, notes, location and department phone numbers. They can see whether the course is offered as traditional, in-person classroom instruction, or as a Web-based class. If there are any lab fees, these are also listed. It also shows whether the course is open or closed.
The course window can be printed by clicking the printer icon.
“The great part of this new interface is that it’s much more user and mobile friendly, and the classes are refreshed each morning with the latest information, so if any new classes are added, they will show up within 24 hours,” Anderson said. “The old PDF and FlippingBook schedules weren’t updated once they were published, and this new version addresses that. The HTML class schedule is updated daily, and MyTMCC continues to provide real-time updates.”
Enrollment is then completed on MyTMCC.
“Once students have chosen which classes they’d like to take, a ‘Register Now’ button will let them jump right to MyTMCC to register for that class, as well,” Anderson said.
