Truckee Meadows Community College celebrates the 44th Annual Student Art and Design Exhibition, a juried art show opening on April 11. Works of fine art and graphic design are on display through May 3.
An artists' reception and awards ceremony takes place on April 11 in front of the TMCC Main Art Gallery in the V. James Eardley Student Center. In addition, the juror, Kate O’Hara, offers a special presentation at 5:30 p.m.
Refreshments will be served and the reception is free and open to the public.

Artist Kate O'Hara
Kate O'Hara is a freelance artist and illustrator currently living in Reno. She graduated in 2014 from the Illustration Program at the University of the Arts, in Philadelphia.
Most of her work is created with colored pencil, and her commercial work is a combination of traditional drawing and digital coloring. She has created illustrations for a variety of clients including: Cirque Du Soleil, Scholastic Inc., Paramount Pictures Corporation, Hasbro Toys and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
She has also been featured in illustration annuals such as the Society of Illustrators; Spectrum Fantastic Art; 3x3, The Magazine of Contemporary Illustration; and Communication Arts. Her fine art has been exhibited at a variety of galleries including: Light Grey Art Lab, Antler Gallery, Talon Gallery, and Gallery Nucleus Portland.
“The awards are generously funded through TMCC and Nevada Fine Arts,” said Aimee Kelly, Art Galleries Curator and Instructor.
