Employers will be looking to hire for part-time, full-time, seasonal and temporary positions. Kelley Wong, the Program Coordinator at the Career Center, has been working with employers for both fairs and is excited about the turnout. She has seen a lot of success in past semesters, and hopes to keep the momentum going for the Fall Job Fairs.
“The Job Fair is a great place to meet one-on-one with companies that are hiring and helps make the hiring process more natural and personalized,” Wong said. “Students are encouraged to walk around and meet with employers, hand their resumes in to employers they’re interested in and ask questions about openings within the companies.”
There will be a Networking Breakfast prior to the first Job Fair on the Dandini Campus, where students and alumni can meet with employers informally. The breakfast will be more casual and is a great opportunity for potential employees to meet local employers in a more relaxed setting.
Employers at both campuses will have booths set up to give out information about their companies and the positions they are trying to fill. Attendees are asked to bring several copies of their resume and to dress in professional attire. A raffle will be held at each site to give away prizes donated by employers, as well as a free 3-credit class at TMCC. There will be about 60 employers at Dandini on Oct. 10, and a packed house of 32 employers at the Pennington Applied Technology Center on Oct. 24.
