On Thursday, May 2 the Grove at South Creek will become a mecca of logistics and leadership: TMCC and the Frank N. Bender Center for Applied Logistics will host an event that will enable local leaders and students to network while listening to expert keynote speakers.
The Frank N. Bender Logistics Leadership Conference will be open to the community, as well as TMCC students, and will be held from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Linda Pedelty, Leadership Development Coach, Speaker and Trainer will speak on the topic of Emotional Intelligence and how this topic connects to extraordinary leadership. “We’ll discuss what makes a great leader, and how you can develop the skills that let you ‘lead from where you stand’ regardless of what your official title or organizational position is.”
Bob Potts, Research Director for Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), will present on the diversification and structural changes in Nevada’s growing economy. “We’ll discuss the combined effect of growth and change and what that means to education and workforce development by highlighting in-demand occupations, worker competencies, and the importance of work-based learning experience.”
You can register for the event online. Proceeds from the event will contribute to scholarships for TMCC Logistics students in the pursuit of an Applied Science Degree in Logistics Operations Management. A catered lunch will be provided, but space is limited.
