HESI Admission Assessment Exam
The Health Education Systems, Inc. (HESI) Admission Assessment is a timed, computerized test. The HESI exam can be taken two times in 12 months; only those sections where a score of less than 75% was achieved can be repeated.
The exam costs $103.50 for both the first and second attempts. A non-refundable registration fee of $3.50 is also charged.
TMCC's Nursing Program is responsible for all admission requirements and decisions regarding the Nursing HESI exam. The Nursing HESI consists of:
- Reading Comprehension
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Math
- Biology
- Anatomy and Physiology
Scoring and Instruction
The Nursing HESI exam scores are weighted at 50%. A score is required in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Grammar, Math, Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary. An average score for the HESI exam is calculated and the average percent score is divided by the number 25.
Testing is held at the Pennington Health Science Center, 18600 Wedge Parkway, Bldg B, Reno, NV 89511. The exam starts at 9 a.m. You must be checked in no later than 8:45 a.m. You will have 6 hours to complete all sections (time has been set to accommodate DRC test takers). Please check your email for instructions 2–3 days before your testing date. Be sure to check your spam folder as well.
