Online Course Fee: $15. This is a hybrid section: part in-person and part web-based. Students must attend the in-person meetings and sign into the web-based portion on the first day of class or risk being dropped for non-attendance. Students need to have access to Microsoft Office 2021 (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), a computer, and internet access to complete assignments. Students who do not have access to Microsoft Office 2021 installed in their home or office computers, may use the general access labs on any of the following TMCC campuses: Dandini Campus - SIER LIB/Learning Commons, Meadowood Center - MDWS 124, Applied Tech Center-EDSN 108, or Health Sciences Center-HSC 100.

Description

An introduction to computer terminology, hardware and application programs for management information systems. Students are introduced to business, industry and education applications of popular software using spreadsheets, word processors, and databases. "Hands-on" experience is provided through student use of open labs.

This course will introduce the study of films from particular genres (for example, the science fiction film), directors (for example, the films of Alfred Hitchcock) or stars (for example, the films of Katherine Hepburn) and relate them to the human values these films depict. It will also introduce some of the techniques and language of filmmaking in general. (Same as THTR 180.)
