Earth Day Celebration
You are invited to participate in our TMCC Earth Day Celebration, on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. The Earth Day event will take place at our Dandini Campus, in the V. James Eardley Student Services Center, from 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m
The TMCC Sustainability Champions and Learning Commons committees are sponsoring this event, which has been globally celebrated by billions of people since 1970. Come and learn about sustainable practices in our community, and TMCC’s renewable energy efforts, pollinator garden, research efforts, and much much more!
In order to help save our planet, you are encouraged this day to carpool to work, ride your bike, or ride to campus using one of Washoe County’s Regional Transport Commission (RTC) Busses. Routes can be found on their website. Consider bringing a clothes item that may be repaired by Patagonia Repairs Department members.
Signup during the event to participate in the end-of-the-event raffle. Prizes will include 3 credit-class for TMCC (student will require a 2.0 GPA and be enrolled in 6 credits for the Fall Semester), a Patagonia backpack and caps, and much more. In order to earn tickets for the raffle you can participate in:
- Biking/carpooling, using RTC to work this day.
- Planting a native pollinator plant at our Bee Campus USA garden.
- Visiting solar and or turbine renewable energy resources on campus; as well as electric car charging station, bike repair station, water station, Wizard Warehouse, and more to be shared this day.
