International Education Week: Celebration Event

Come join us for TMCC’s annual celebration of International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education featuring: on and off-campus resources at our Tabling Event, Musical and Dance Performances, Art Activities, a keynote speaker, free ethnic food and refreshments, and more!
Event Schedule:
11 a.m.–Noon
- Tabling Event: On and Off-Campus Resources
- Activity Tables:
- Custom luggage tags
- Henna table: choose from 4-5 designs for your Henna tattoo
- French food culture: taste some cheeses and play “pin the wine glass”
- Paper Airplane target practice
- Flag decorating (replicate or create your own flag)
- Lei making
- Photo booth
- Doodle board: a table set up with drawing materials for participants to doodle symbols or images representing different countries on the board
- Make buttons with TMCC’s I-Club - write your name in various languages and make them into buttons
- Live Performances:
- 11:30 a.m.: Saki Suto, dancer performing original choreography
- 11:40 a.m.: Prisha Malhotra performing a song in Hindi: Titli, by Chinmayi and Gopi Sundar
- 11:50 a.m.: Rin Ariyama and Luminescent performing a hip-hop dance
12:10–12:30 p.m.
- Keynote Address:
- Speaker: Danell Wilson-Perlman, Co-owner of Reno-Tahoe Limousine, and CEO of African Skies Travel Connection LLC
- Title: The Journey Beyond Home: How We Embrace Living in a New Country
12:45 p.m.
- Dance performances by the Reno Chinese Dance Club:
