We are eager to establish and cultivate relationships with employers who are looking for part-time and summer workers, college interns, and/or those who offer full-time opportunities suited for soon-to-be or recent college graduates. We have many opportunities throughout the school year for employers to become involved in our campus events. TMCC offers employers cost-effective ways to recruit potential employees.
Online Job Board
TMCC's Handshake is a free job posting service available to local employers, business, industry, government and non-profit organizations for assistance in seeking qualified employees or interns. Our Job Board is accessible by students and alumni 24 hours a day. To post a job, please create an account on Handshake. Once you’ve created an account you’ll be able to, create a personalized company profile, post employment opportunities, gain access to our student resume book database and hear about upcoming TMCC Career Hub events.
Additionally, a physical job board and Career Carousel of employment postings is available in the Career Hub on our Dandini Campus in RDMT 115. Employers can mail, fax or deliver flyers to us for posting to the board. All flyers must include: contact name, phone number and address. Website and email address are optional, though strongly encouraged. All positions are posted for 30 days unless otherwise directed.
Internship Coordination
Placing an advanced student in an internship can provide to the employer an early look at talent that is progressing into the region’s workforce. Mentoring a student that is close to graduation is rewarding and a way to impact the future of an individual career, or positively influence an evolving career field. TMCC has an internship coordinator that will coordinate a partnership between the employer partner, student and faculty sponsor in order to support the internship process and provide a centralized location for questions, completion of forms, and to receive input about continually refining the process.
Internships provide students the opportunity to gain practical work experience related to an academic program under the supervision of experienced business or industry personnel. The faculty sponsor directly supervises the student’s internship experience by working closely with the student and employer partner through telephone contacts and site visits. The faculty sponsor also oversees the attendance report and evaluation from the student’s site supervisor.
Internships offer a win-win situation for businesses, students and colleges.
- Internships provide fresh new ideas and specialized strengths and skill sets.
- Internships offers zero recruiting costs when working with college level Internship Programs.
- Internships provide students an opportunity to work in their chosen field and make connections.
- Internships support learning in a hands-on training environment, with “real world” work experience and mentoring opportunity.
- Internships provide feedback to colleges regarding the relevancy of coursework and better train tomorrow’s workforce.
