At TMCC, we have both professional academic advisors and faculty advisors here to support you year-round. We do not assign you to a specific advisor, so who should you see?
Professional Academic Advisors in the Academic Advising Center support students from all backgrounds in our welcoming environment in order to help you achieve your educational, personal, and professional goals. We meet with students pursuing all certificate and degree programs, non-degree seeking students who are taking classes for personal interest or employment upgrades, transfer students coming into TMCC or moving on to another school, and undecided students who haven't yet decided on a goal. No matter your goal, we're here to help you. Academic Advising is open year-round on the Dandini campus and at our other locations during the fall and spring semesters. You may schedule an appointment to meet with a Professional Academic Advisor.
Faculty Advisors are college professors and instructors who provide additional academic advising and support to students in specific majors and programs only. Faculty Advisors can help students make connections between their academics at TMCC and their future professional goals in a particular career field. They are industry experts who are ready to talk with you about your chosen field. Faculty Advisors are not available for all programs. Contact a Faculty Advisor directly based on your major to schedule an appointment.
