Art Exhibits on Display April 10–May 4, 2023
Truckee Meadows Community College welcomes its 49th Annual Student Art Exhibition, which will be on display from April 10 through May 4 in all Dandini Campus Galleries. An artist reception and awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 12 from 5–7 p.m. in the TMCC Main Art Gallery.
The Student Art and Design Exhibition showcases work in numerous forms of media created by current TMCC students and offer the public a chance to view their expansive talent and creativity. The show features 73 students and 187 artworks that range from decorative to highly conceptual, visitors are sure to be enthralled by the diversity of methods and ideas explored by the works presented.
Kris Vagner Selected Exhibition Entries for Awards
Kris Vagner is an editor and publisher for the arts publication Double Scoop which covers art news in Nevada. After collecting an English degree in Arizona and studying art in Boston and Los Angeles, Kris settled in Tuscarora, Nevada, which has an impressive art scene for a town of 89 residents. A few years later, in 2004, she moved to Reno, began covering local arts for the Reno News & Review, and quickly realized that she wanted her writing to speak to art-world insiders and laypeople alike. Since then, she’s contributed to regional and national publications, arts organizations, and news outlets.
Awards for the Student Art and Design Exhibition are funded by TMCC Art Galleries and Nevada Fine Arts.
