Art Exhibits on Display April 1–May 2, 2024
Truckee Meadows Community College welcomes its 50th Annual Student Art Exhibition, which will be on display from April 1 through May 2 in all Dandini Campus Galleries. An artist reception and awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 17, from 5–7 p.m. in the TMCC Main Art Gallery.
Celebrate artistic excellence and creative expression at the Truckee Meadows Community College's 50th Annual Student Art and Design Show. Immerse yourself in a captivating display of talent as our students showcase their exceptional skills across various mediums, including photography, drawing, three-dimensional works, painting, and digital art. This milestone event promises a diverse and inspiring collection that reflects the dynamic perspectives of our student artists. Join us in commemorating five decades of artistic achievement, innovation, and the vibrant community that has fueled the growth of artistic expression at TMCC. The show features 78 students and 181 artworks that range from decorative to highly conceptual in all four of TMCC’s gallery locations. Visitors are sure to be enthralled by the diversity of methods and ideas explored by the works presented.
Maria Partridge Selected Exhibition Entries for Awards
Maria Partridge is the curator at Sierra Arts Foundation and has been working for Burning Man since 2008. She is currently the project manager for Playa Art and has worked with hundreds of self-funded artists throughout her tenure. Maria is the executive director at Artech, a non-profit art organization consisting of a diverse group of artists, builders, makers and innovators. Maria also taught drawing, painting, watercolor and graphic design at Truckee Meadows Community College from 2002–2016. She served as an Arts and Culture Commissioner for Reno and was active on the public art committee from 2014-2018. As an artist, Partridge has exhibited throughout the United States. Solo shows have included the Nevada Museum of Art, Sierra Art Gallery, Truckee River Gallery and the Angora Gallery in New York City. She received her Master of Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento, in 2004. Her work is represented in national and international private collections and was nominated for the prestigious Joan Mitchell Foundation grant in New York in 2007.
