Description
The Architecture Coordinator will serve as the point of contact for programmatic matters. The coordinator will work with the architecture faculty to gain consensus and act as a communication liaison between the faculty and the dean and department chair. The coordinator will complete a variety of administrative tasks in a timely manner working with internal and external stakeholders.
Scope of Work
The coordinator position serves during the academic term 2024–25. The assignment will cover the 172 contract days of the academic year. This additional assignment is not automatically renewed annually.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Work with the Professional Learning Community to draft recommendations for student-centered semester schedule for review and approval by the Department Chair.
- Make staffing and room assignment recommendations for the schedule for approval by the Department Chair.
- Oversee the NAAB Accreditation process for the BArch program including communications between NAAB and the college, writing of any upcoming reports, oversight of any admissions procedures and keeping the college apprised of any annual fees.
- Develop written policies for admission to, continuance in, dismissal and withdrawal from the BArch program.
- Assist with the development and oversight of the budget of the Architecture program.
- Assist with the development and oversight of procedures for admission to the BArch program.
- Select, supervise, and evaluate such number of qualified part-time instructors as is necessary to carry out the program.
- Coordinate assignment of course assessments and assist in completing them.
- Complete course substitution forms.
- Arrange adequate educational facilities for training.
- Ensure a regular cadence of Professional Learning Community (PLC) Meetings (monthly) and Advisory Board Meetings (twice per year).
- Coordinate and assist with curriculum development and development of program learning outcomes.
- Ongoing development of resources for students.
- Participate in program outreach (career fairs, open houses, special events).
- Serve as primary point-of-contact for student inquiries.
- Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with standards, mission and goals of Truckee Meadows Community College.
- Maintain sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and disabilities of community college students.
- Comply with published college policies, procedures and deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
Qualifications
The Architecture Coordinator must have a Master’s Degree in Architecture or related field. Must have teaching experience at the college level. Must have a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, strong organizational skills, effective interpersonal and interprofessional communication skills, ability to gather consensus, highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Canvas, Courseleaf, E-Lumen, and Peoplesoft.
Compensation
This assignment is a 3-credit release or stipend of $2,856 each for the fall and spring semester.
