Description
The Coordinator of the Computer Science Program is responsible for overseeing the academic and operational aspects of the program to ensure its quality, relevance, and alignment with institutional goals. The Coordinator works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to enhance student success and maintain program excellence.

Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Program Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Computer Science programs.
- Represent the programs in departmental, institutional, and external meetings, as needed.
- Work with faculty to coordinate and program review or assessment
- Develop recommendations for a student-centered semester schedule for review and approval by the Dean
- Curriculum Oversight
- Lead curriculum development and updates to ensure alignment with industry trends and accreditation standards.
- Work with faculty to assess and refine program learning outcomes, as needed.
- Part-Time Success and Support
- Select, supervise, and evaluate such number of qualified part-time instructors as is necessary to carry out the program.
- Student Success and Support
- Oversee program-level advising efforts and address academic issues impacting student success.
- Foster opportunities for internships, capstone projects, and industry partnerships.
- Address student complaints or concerns related to the program.
- Outreach and Recruitment
- Participate in program outreach (career fairs, open houses, special events).
- Engage with UNR and industry professionals to build relationships and gather input on program relevance, as needed.
- Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with standards, mission and goals of Truckee Meadows Community College.
- Maintain sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and disabilities of community college students.
- Comply with published college policies, procedures and deadlines
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
Qualifications
- Current TMCC Computer Science Faculty
Compensation
Three credits of reassigned time per semester or monetary equivalent.
Reports To
Dean of Computer, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences Division
Application Process
Interested faculty will submit a letter of interest describing special qualifications and background information no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 17, 2025
The letter should be addressed to Anne Flesher, Dean of the Computer, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences. Note: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.
