Description
Provide support for International Student Services in accomplishing department goals for recruitment in 2025 by expanding the number of transfer opportunities available through articulation and/or transfer agreements with better-known universities. Transfer agreements serve as a vital mechanism for attracting and retaining international students at community colleges while simultaneously addressing the informational gap and promoting the value proposition of community college education.
Scope of Work
2025–26 academic year for unspecified dates, approximately 100 hours per academic year.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
Coordinate with the International Student Services Director and Manager regarding articulation agreements best suited for our international student population for transfer pathways.
Program Leadership
- Create a comprehensive plan of action with the goal of expanding transfer partnerships with out-of-state colleges and universities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for expanding transfer relationships with California and other out of state universities.
- Develop relationships with college representatives, through personal visits, email and remote efforts.
- Provide timely updates to International Student Services and Academic Advising regarding prospective and new transfer pathways.
Outcomes
- Create functional, written transfer pathways clearly identifying coursework that can be taken at TMCC which will be consistent with UC, CSU and other out-of-state transfer institutions' admissions standards.
- Create four transfer agreements or plans per academic year.
- Attend transfer fairs at nearby large California community colleges (e.g., American River College and Sierra College) to meet with University of California, California State University, and other out-of-state and private school representatives to initiate or follow up on connections.
Qualifications
- Five years of experience working in higher education, preferably three of those at TMCC.
- Familiarity with F-1 visa requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic programs and transfer requirements.
- Preferred experience as a coordinator of transfer services.
- Experience in program assessment and curricular processes at the College.
- Preferred: strong interest in international education.
Compensation
A monetary stipend of $2,500 or or 3-credit release time per semester. Travel compensation to attend transfer partners if travel is requested or approved by International Student Services.

Interested faculty will submit a letter of interest describing special qualifications and detailed plans to accomplish the outcomes of this additional assignment no later than 5 p.m. on April 30, 2025.
The letter should be addressed to Virag Nikolics, Manager. Note: Administrative faculty must include a documented plan for the separation of the additional assignment work from regular work time.
